Guess who's Two and a Half!

Yesterday, Madelyn turned 2 1/2 and we have been thinking about how much she has changed over the past 6 months (Ellie turns 2 months today but I'll talk about her stats after her appointment tomorrow). Madelyn has become quite the little toddler and it's amazing how much she has become a big girl over the last couple of months, especially after she became a Big Sister. At 2 1/2, Madelyn:
  • Weights 25 pounds and is 34 inches tall. She's still a petite little thing and just started wearing 2T
  • Is a loving and helpful Big Sister. She enjoys singing to Ellie and giving Ellie her pacifier. I was feeding Ellie today while reading a book to Madelyn (I've become very good at multi-tasking) and Madelyn leaned over and whispered "I love you so much Ellie" in Ellie's ear. It made my heart melt!
  • Loves to play outside. She could play outside all day if you let her. She loves to ride her big wheel bike and tricycle. She also loves sidewalk chalk and bubbles.
  • Is still a picky eater but her favorites are bread, raisins, cookies, cantaloupe, pizza, carrots, french toast sticks, yogurt and pancakes. We fix her plate with what we're eating every night and she picks at her food, but she's starting to be more adventurous. We bribe her every night with cookies for dessert if she finishes her dinner. Madelyn is also the slowest eater in the world. She can sit at the table for an hour finishing a meal. We need to work on eating fast before preschool starts in the Fall.
  • Is quite the talker at home and can be very goofy. She can talk your ear off at home, but she appears more reserved in public. She's the type of child that takes it all in first when she's experiencing new things.
  • LOVES being girly. She has her own house set up in the playroom and really doesn't need many toys except for her table, kitchen, shopping cart, stroller, play food, baby dolls, and tea set. She also loves jewelry and walks around with her purse on her shoulder filled with her play jewelry.
  • Is in her toddler bed and doing great (has started taking naps again) and is just about ready to take the plunge with no diapers. She's already going in the potty several times a day.
  • Loves to color and can sit at the table coloring forever. She loves arts and crafts and I know she's going to eat up preschool with all the fun crafts.
  • Also loves to read and has memorized every book in her book shelf. She knows every single title and has memorized most of the words. I'm not exaggerating. I hear her reading her books through the video monitor and I'm positive that she knows more nursery rhymes by heart than me!
  • Has quite the temper and takes after her Mommy in that department. She appears very docile one second and can have the biggest red headed temper tantrum the next second.
  • Last but not least, Madelyn has grown to be the sweetest most loving little toddler and Big Sister and we can't imagine life without her. We love you Madelyn!
