Trip to CT

We had a great trip visiting family up in CT. We stayed very busy and were able to celebrate Bill's grandmother's 80th birthday, took a trip to the Wethersfield Nature Center and the park, and went swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool. We had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect (in the 70's and 80's the whole trip!).

Madelyn is nine months old! She had her check-up today and weighed almost 17 pounds (15th percentile) and is 27 inches long (30th percentile). We are wondering how she weights so little with those big thighs! We are going to start trying some table food the next 3 months and worked on eating some cheerios after dinner tonight. She was able to get about a third in her mouth but got better each time!

Celebrating Great Grandma McGuire's 80th birthday. Madelyn was getting a little cranky and ready for bed. Jack was wondering when he was going to get some of that cake!

Look what they've done!

Before & after shots of our old house. You can see the lovely choice of landscaping (why not rip out established bushes for a bird bath)...but the new "tree" is the true centerpiece of the yard.

Visit from Cousin Jack

Aunt Kristen, Uncle Mark, and Jack visited us from CT this weekend. We had a great weekend and it was fun (and interesting) to see the kids interact with each other. With neither of them understanding the word gentle, we spent the whole weekend as their referee!

On Friday we hung out, drank wine, and cooked out on the grill. On Saturday, we took a trip to Maymont Park to visit the Animal Farm, went to Short Pump Mall and rode the train, and went out for Mexican for dinner. It was a fun and busy day and everyone was exhausted by bedtime.

We are heading up to CT on Thursday and are excited about seeing everyone and Madelyn is excited about spending more time with her cousin Jack.

Here are some pictures from our weekend!

Madelyn didn't know what to think about the goat!

Congratulations Amy and Sam

Amy and Sam were married last night at The Farmhouse. It was a beautiful ceremony and fun reception and everyone had an amazing time (some of us too good of a time:). The music was great with lots of dancing, the food was delicious, and thank god it didn't rain. It was a little touch and go for a while!

Madelyn did really well during the ceremony and stayed for the cocktail hour. Our friend, Missy, picked Madelyn up around 7 and took her home to go to sleep. Madelyn had a sleepover at their house and we picked her up this morning. It was so nice to have a night out! Thank you Missy and Tim!

Here are some pictures from yesterday:
