Happy 2nd Birthday Holden

I still cannot believe our little man is already 2 years old.  Time is going way too fast!  For Holden's 2nd birthday, we had a little family party at home and he invited one of his little neighborhood friends to his party.  The theme was Thomas the Train and it was perfect. They played, Madelyn created a homemade pinata, ate pizza and cake and opened gifts.  Holden was in heaven with all his favorite people!

At 2 years old, Holden:
  • Weights 38.5 pounds (99%)
  • Height is 36 inches (79%)
  • Loves to eat everything and anything.  His favorite foods are Gogurts, cheese sticks and pizza.
  • Sleeps like a champ and is very flexible. He sleeps about 12 hours at night and takes a 3 hour nap every day.
  • Loves baseball, cars, trains and playing outside!
  • Has terrible separation anxiety and cries when we leave him.
  • Is starting to talk more.  He is a bit behind on talking so we are really working on trying to piece together some words.  I've been reading to him a ton and taking him to library story time a lot since school has started and I can see improvement.
  • Loves to swim and did great in his puddle jumper over the summer.
  • Loves his sisters and cousins and lights up when he seems them:)
  • Lights up the room with his smile and his very friendly and waves to everyone when we are in public.  He has the sweetest demeanor but is very curious, has lots of energy and is into everything in our house.  He is all boy!
We love you Holden James!

Ellie dressed up as a clown and made balloon animals!

Madelyn made a pinata filled with lollipops (Holden's favorite) for the party!

Holden loves his backpack and wears this to the bus stop every day!

First Day of School 2016

We are so sad (especially me!) that summer has ended but I guess it cannot go on forever.  The first day of school went pretty good for the girls.  Ellie had some crying the first couple of days this week but luckily the end of the week has gone better. Fingers crossed that we have a smooth 1st grade year!  Madelyn is gearing up for 3rd grade and likes her teacher. She can already tell that 3rd grade is a lot more academic than other years!

Holden Beach 2016

We had another fabulous Beach vacation in Holden Beach.  Now that school has started, it seems like the vacation was months ago but we only got home about 2 weeks ago.  The had such a fun time and it is neat to see how our activities have changed now that the kids are a little older.  We actually played a real round of putt-putt this year which was a miracle.  Holden was not too fond of the sand or ocean the first several days but he got used to everything by the end of the week.  Grandma Vera and Grandpa came the last 3 nights which is always a blast.  Aunt Doris and Uncle Harold stayed at a condo down the street which was a ton of fun and they did a lot of fun things with us and even rented a pontoon boat for a day and we took a trip to Southport for lunch and shopping.  It was an awesome week with lots of memories made!
