July 4th Weekend

July 4th weekend was a ton of fun despite the yucky weather!  On Saturday, we ventured over to Innsbrook to check out the food festival and see fireworks.  It was the first year they had put on this event and boy was it crowded!  Despite the chaos, we managed to have a good time and we are so glad we stayed because the rest of the weekend was really rainy.  The pool July 4th party was cancelled so we spent the day at the Moore's house and ate yummy food and played games (and ping pong).  The weather cleared up that night so some friends and neighbors came over last minute to see Bill's fireworks.  We ended up with almost 40 people at our house so it was quite the turnout for it being last minute.  Fourth of July is always such a fun weekend with family and friends!

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is one of the most fun weeks of the Summer.  Madelyn and Ellie were excited to have BOTH Cora and Josh as guests this year.  It was such a great week for the kids and they are still singing all the songs!

Holden is too young to attend but loved doing this at the end!

More Swim Team

Swim Team takes over the entire first half of your Summer but it is a ton of fun.  Lots of practice, fun events and HOT meets keeps our schedule busy. Here are some more pictures from the last several meets.  Both girls have done so well this year.  Ellie has continued to drop time in both backstroke and freestyle.  Madelyn has earned ribbons in backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke. Her biggest accomplishment this year has been swimming the 100 IM for the first time.  She was so proud of herself for working up her endurance to do it and she even got a 2nd place ribbon!

Writing her name on the banner.  You get to sign the banner when you drop time!  Madelyn dropped 14 seconds in butterfly this meet.  She says it was because she watched the swimmers during the olympic trials!

Left photo shows Madelyn after swimming the IM and she was exhausted.  And then she had to go right back to Clerk of the Course and do backstroke. She was a trooper!
