Happy Birthday Meme

Yesterday was a very special day because we celebrated Meme's 83rd birthday.  Meme has had a rough Spring/Summer and was in the hospital for a long time after having back surgery and complications.  She is doing much better and we were so happy that we were able to celebrate with her yesterday.  Nana and Pop hosted a great party and fun was had by all!

Busch Gardens

On Saturday, we made one last trip to Busch Gardens for the season.  We were running out of weekends before school starts and the summer passes end.  We left after lunch and stayed until close and it was a great time.  Bill stayed home with Holden and Nana and Pop helped out too.  It was a little crowded but the weather was perfect so well worth the waiting in line.  The highlight of the trip was Madelyn went on her first real roller coaster, The Lochness Monster.  Cora was very good at convincing Madelyn to try the ride.  She tried to get on the ride when we first arrived but was turned away because she was 1/4 of an inch to short.  We then decided to have her switch shoes with Cora and she mustered up the courage to try it again at the end of the night and it worked.  She went on the roller coaster in the dark and loved it.  She was all smiles and so proud of herself.  Her favorite part was going upside down and the dark tunnel!

Lake Gaston

We spent this past weekend at our friend's house on Lake Gaston and had an amazing time.  We arrived on Friday night and had a great dinner with friends and the kid's had a sleepover in the basement.  On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous and we spent the entire day on the dock , boat, jet ski and tube.  It was a blast!  We are so lucky to have such great friends!
