Two Peas in a Pod!

Last week, Fenway and Madelyn were having some fun while I was folding laundry. Madelyn just loves her puppy and Fenway follows Madelyn around because he's looking for a yummy snack. They are so cute together!

We have had a very busy week. On Wednesday, Madelyn and I drove up to Northern Virginia to spend the night with Karyn and AJ Baskette. We had a great time visiting and Madelyn had fun watching AJ play and move around. When we got home, she really started crawling and has starting moving across the room pretty fast. Yesterday, we went to John Grayson's birthday party and we had dinner with friends at the Kelly's house. Madelyn has been doing great in the pack-n-play when we go over friend's houses. She goes right down and does great with transferring to her bed afterwards. She's quite the little sleeper and definitely takes after her Daddy in that department.

This morning, we took a long walk to Deep Run Park and played on the swings. Madelyn wasn't too excited about the swings, but we're thinking it was because of the heat. We'll try again when it's a little cooler. Here are some pictures from our trip to NoVa and the park this morning.

On the go!

Madelyn turned 8 months old last week. We can't believe how fast the months are flying by! We had a big weekend with Aunt Amy's bridal shower and went over the DeHaven's house last night for dinner and games. Madelyn also started crawling and can now go from laying down to a sitting position with no problem at all. We found out today that Aunt Amy and Uncle Sam are having a baby girl. We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet baby Nolan!

Fenway's Home!

For those who haven't heard yet, Fenway gave us all quite a scare on Saturday (July 12). He got loose and ended up in Church Road where he was hit by a Jeep Wrangler that was going about 35 mph. Luckily the middle of the car passed over him, avoiding actually being 'run over' by the tires, and all he ended up with was a serious bump on the head but, as anyone knows who has had the unfortunate experience of seeing a dog get hit by a car, it's a very scary event - especially when it's your dog!

So, we rushed our little unconscious boy to our vet who started him on some steroids and antibiotics to prevent any brain swelling and infection, respectively. After Fenway was stabilized, we were referred us to a great clinic, Veterinary Referral & Critical Care. The VRCC took great care of him over the next 36 hours and they were very friendly.

Bill went to visit him tonight and, to our surprise, Fenway was discharged with a pretty clean bill of health except that he isn't eating too much (but that's par for the course, he's not a food-motivated dog) and some pain meds.

We want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers, we needed all of the help we could get....Fenway is a lucky little dog!

Madelyn has started making this face this week. We are so happy she had not figured this out until after her professional pictures were taken on Sunday. We just had to capture it in a picture!

Look who is finally sitting up!

Happy 4th of July! We've are having a great holiday weekend working on the house and cooking out. We had a big day on Thursday because Madelyn started sitting on her own. We are so excited! She is becoming such a character with her own little personslity. She loves to laugh and play with Fenway. We had a playdate last week with the little boy down the street. He is one week older than Madelyn. They had a really good time together! Below is a picture from our play date and some video we took the other evening.
