Go Spiders!

On Saturday, we went to the UR homecoming game in the afternoon.  It was a beautiful Fall day and the girls had a ton of fun!  We did a little bit of tailgating and then went to the football game.  Madelyn's favorite part was eating a pink cupcake while tailgating and popcorn at the game.  Ellie loved listening to all the screaming and the music.  She clapped at everything.   It was a very fun day!

Fun Day at Carter Mountain

Today was the perfect day to pick apples on Carter Mountain.  We left the house very early this morning to meet Nana and Pop, the Nolan family and several of our friends in Charlottesville to have some Fall fun.  The weather was perfect and everyone had a really good time. We ate apple donuts with hot apple cider, went on a hay ride, picked apples, and had a picnic lunch.  The kids were exhausted and were sleeping before we hit the interstate on the way home.  Apple picking is one of my favorite Fall activities and it gets more fun every year as the kids get older!

We celebrated my birthday on Thursday night with a little party at Nana and Pop's house.  The Nolan's and Meme also came over for dinner and cake.  It was a fun night and Nana made quite the spread and bought a delicious Ukrop's cake which is my favorite!  Madelyn was really into my birthday this year and is already counting the days to her birthday.  On Friday night, Bill and I celebrated by going out to dinner while Nana and Pop watched the girls.  It was so nice to go out with Bill all alone and eat a peaceful meal.  I really enjoyed my birthday this year!

Fall Trip to CT!

We decided to take a family trip to CT for a long weekend in order to visit the McGuire side of the family and go to a friend's wedding.  It seemed like a very quick trip but it was a ton of fun.  On Saturday, we took a trip to the pumpkin patch at a place called Foster Farm.  We rarely see Jack in the Fall so it was such a treat for the girls to pick pumpkins with him and do all the fun "Fall" activities.  During our trip, we also got together with Bill's high school friends and their families, looked at all the Halloween decoration and scarecrows in Old Wethersfield, celebrated my birthday and Madelyn's birthday, and attended a very fun wedding while the kids stayed home with Grandpa, Vera and Aunt Kristen.  It was a jam packed and fun weekend.  Yesterday, it took us over 9 hours to get home but the girls were troopers and actually watched 9 hours of movies in our van.  Thank god for our DVD player!  Here are some pictures from our trip:
