Lewis Ginter

On Friday, Nana treated us all to a day at Lewis Ginter.  It was a beautiful morning to roam the gardens and have a picnic lunch.  Here are some photos from our fun morning:

Happy 65th Birthday Pop!

It was a big week celebrating Pop!  On Sunday after we got home from the river, we had Nana and Pop over for dinner to grill out.  Poor Ellie had to go to Kid Med with a double ear infection so she slept through the entire thing.  On Thursday, we got together with the Nolans for a fun dinner to celebrate Pop's birthday.  We all had a great time celebrating Pop. We love you Pop!

Last Day of School

Well the last day of school did not go quite how we envisioned.  We got hit by a HUGE storm with 70-80 mile an hour winds on Thursday night which caused our area to have widespread power outages and lots of damage.  Unfortunately, we lost the only tree left in our front yard but we are thankful that it did not hit our house.  School was cancelled so we spent the morning watching Bill and Jacob get our cars out and playing with friends and neighbors on the tree.  Fortunately, we still had our last day of school pizza party inside the  Moore's house which was chaotic but fun.  On Monday, we went back to school to pick up report cards, any last things, drop off teacher gifts and Ellie was so excited to see her teacher and give her a goodbye hug!

Monday we also went to target with friends after swim team!

Go Rockets

Swim Team is in full gear and both girls are doing great and loving it this year.  They have had 2 meets so far and have improved their time in all of their strokes.  In the last meet, Madelyn got 3 ribbons (relay - 2nd, breast  - 6th and back - 6th) which was so exciting and Ellie came in first in her freestyle heat and got a lollipop.  She was so excited and has come such a long way from last year!  We are so proud of both of them!

Holden was a trooper during the first meet.  We have a babysitter the rest of the season!

Madelyn's Dance Recital

Madelyn's dance recital went great this year but it was VERY long.  The theme was Broadway which was so cool.  Madelyn's Jazz/Tap class danced to at Tinkerbell Song in Peter Pan and she also was Mary Poppins in the finale.  The finale required a lot of practice and made the recital day extra long (7 (6 hours on Saturday and 9 hours on Sunday) but she enjoyed having the extra part and it was fun dancing with all the big kids at the end.  It was a great dance year and she is looking forward to taking Jazz again with Cora next year!

Holden loved staying with the Nolans on Saturday!
