The first big hurdle!

We've hopefully accomplished one of two big hurdles with Madelyn for the spring/summer. This summer, our plan is to potty train Madelyn and put her into a toddler bed. She's ready for both, but we've been avoiding it because it's been so nice to have her confined in the crib. Right before Ellie was born, Madelyn had several tantrums in the crib and tried to climb out on several occasions so we bought a rail. The tantrums stopped before the rail arrived in the mail so we decided to hold off for a bit.
Since this is a pretty calm weekend, we decided to get the toddler bed ready this morning. Madelyn was super excited about her new bed and went down for her nap with no fight. We explained to her the she is not allowed to get out of her bed and has to call for us when she wakes up. She read her books for about 30 minutes and turned over and went to sleep. We'll see what happens when she wakes up!
After our trip to CT, we're going to start potty training. Madelyn has been going in the potty a lot during the day but we're taking the plunge the beginning of June with no diapers. We figured an 8 - 10 hour drive with an infant and a toddler just out of diapers would be a recipe for disaster!
So excited about her new bed!
All smiles this morning!
