Nana and Pop's church organized a 5K and Kid 1-mile run on Saturday to benefit as a fundraiser for an adoption fund. Pop was very excited to register his grand kids for the race. He even signed up Ellie so that she could join in the fun and get a t-shirt. I was pretty skeptical about signing up Madelyn for a race because as you all know, she's extremely laid back and does nothing fast. Well, she proved me wrong on Saturday and ran the entire mile without stopping. I was so proud of her. She was actually a really good running partner because she kept a steady pace the entire time and finished in 13 minutes. Ellie was very excited to participate and ran with Daddy and Pop for about a quarter of a mile and then cut her race short and waited for us just short of the finish line so that she could finish with her sister and cousin. Despite getting over a bad cold, Cora was a trooper running her mile with a little help from Uncle Sam. We were also excited to see a couple of friends at the race. Judah ran his first race super fast and John Grayson won 2nd place in his age group. Congrats to all our little runners! It was a really fun morning and the girls favorite part was the food and bounce house at the end. We can't wait to participate again next year!
