Holiday Fun

This holiday season has been a ton of fun and it's only just beginning.  Last weekend, we spent Saturday night at Nana and Pop's church for their Jingle Jam which was centered around the game Candyland.  All the kids loved the show (it even kept Ellie's attention) and they had a Christmas festival afterwards with lots of candy, games, face painting and arts and crafts.  Madelyn and Ellie had a lot of fun and were very excited to go home with Nana and Pop afterwards for a sleepover while Bill and I enjoyed a night out at holiday parties.

On Sunday night, we went with friends to another church for a Live Nativity Show.  It was an awesome hour-long play with tigers, a lion, camels, donkeys and all sorts of animals.  Madelyn's favorite part was when Baby Jesus was born and Ellie's eyes lit up when the animals walked across the stage.   They even handed out candles at the end which made the sanctuary beautiful with all the music and candlelight.  It reminded me of my childhood at the Methodist Church.  Afterwards, the church had "cookies and camels" outside where the kids got to see the animals up close and eat cookies.  The kids ran around together looking at the animals and then we headed out for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Here are some photos from our weekend!

Eating a Gingerbread Cookie and they had yummy hot chocolate too!

I love Ellie's face in this photo!

Ellie was so excited to pin the nose on the reindeer.  She was such a big girl!

Madelyn, Ellie, Isabella and Sophie loved the show!

My favorite part was the lighting of the candles at the end!
