We went to the beach with Nana and Pop, Aunt Amy and Uncle Sam, Aunt Erin (for a couple of days), Meme, Sam's sister Susie and her husband Jerald and their kids Stella and Nolan. It was a fun crowd and the kids kept us on our toes. They were all very good!
Madelyn did great at the beach. She was not very fond of the sand and would only stick one leg in the sand at a time. She was content sitting on her blanket playing with her sand toys. The vacation was not very restful as Madelyn decided that she wanted to wake up at 5:15 on the dot every morning. Each of us took turns going on very long walks in the morning so we didn't wake eveyone else up in the house.
Now that it is September and we have said good-bye to summertime, Bill is excited about the start of football. Madelyn has really been starting to babble a lot and is in the process of learning to say "touchdown!" We think she said it once this afternoon, but we are not completely sure! Madelyn has also really started pulling up and started clapping her hands for the first time at the beach.
Here are some pictures from our week at Corolla Light:
Madelyn's first day at the beach!
Hanging out at the pool with Aunt Erin!
Drinking a Pina Colada (virgin of course!) with Nana. She takes after her Mommy!

welcome back! Those are some great pictures. I can't believe Madelyn sits so happy on that beach blanket. AJ would have tossed it up (and gotten sand on everyone) and then tried to eat the sand, and then run into the ocean diving head first in the water. Madelyn is such a sweet little lady!! Can't wait to see you all again in a few weeks.
