Memorial Day Weekend in Chilly New England

Over Memorial Day weekend, we drove up to CT to visit the McGuire side of the family.  It had been way too long since we have seen our family in CT and it was so nice to spend the holiday weekend with them.  Madelyn and Ellie loved playing and catching up with Sarah and Jack over the weekend and they got along great other than getting into some mischief along the way.   Despite some interesting moments during our trip, we had a really great time and there are always LOTS of laughs when we are all together.  During our trip, the weather was super cold and rainy but luckily it warmed up by the last day.  Despite the rain, we stayed pretty busy during our trip and were even able to fit in some of Grandpa's amazing and huge fireworks on Sunday night.   On Monday, it was a perfect weather day and we went to the little Memorial Day parade and visited the local fire station where they recognized Great Grandpa McGuire in a ceremony.  It was a really fun morning and the kids loved watching the parade and sitting in the fire truck.  The next McGuire family reunion is at the end of July in Baltimore which should be super fun and we can't wait to see everyone again!

Ellie has a special bond with Grandpa!

Madelyn and Jack were so excited to be together again.  Jack is showing Madelyn his iPad so Madelyn keeps asking me when she's getting an iPad.  Thanks Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mark:)

Happy Birthday to Vera and belated birthday to Bill!

Bowling is always fun to do on a rainy and cold Spring day!

Loved spending time with little Sarah!

These two kids have quite the imagination!
Madelyn attempting to bowl without the ramp!

Ellie getting some pointers from Uncle Mark!

Madelyn was so excited to give Briley an early birthday gift.  She picked out a doll baby especially for Briley and was so excited!

We were so excited Nikki and Briley drove down from Boston in the rain to visit!

Grandpa and Vera treated us to hibachi for dinner.  Yum!

The kids loved it!

Other than Ellie who was a little scared and needed Grandpa to protect her!

Kids got a little "Sake" as a treat

The kids were so excited the wind stopped so we could do the fireworks!

Ellie not so sure of the sparklers!

Ellie and Vera watched the fireworks from inside  They were smart because it was chilly and the fireworks were pretty big and loud.  I was convinced Bill was going to lose a limb while he was shooting them off!

So excited!

Going to check out the fire truck with Great Aunt Amy!

Finally warm enough to test out Grandpa's pool.  It was COLD but the kids loved it!
