Celebrating Baby Kren

Madelyn and I spent a long weekend in Wethersfield and Boston to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Boy Kren.  Bill stayed home with Ellie all weekend and they had great bonding time.  We left very early on Friday morning and flew into Boston and then drove down to CT with Cousin Nikki.  The shower was a brunch on Saturday and turned out perfect.  It was a ton of fun and it was so nice to see all the family members and hang out by the pool in the wonderful New England summer weather.  Madelyn and Jack got along great as usual and ran around pretending they were princesses all weekend.  On Sunday, Madelyn and I left to go back up to Boston and spent the night with Nikki and Nick.  It was a wonderful weekend seeing family and I really enjoyed spending quality time with Madelyn. It's amazing how easy it feels when you only have one child!

This was Madelyn's 5th time flying but she hasn't flown since she was 18 months and doesn't remember much of it.  She was a little scared at first but loved it once we got in the air.  On the way home, she was a pro!

Grandpa and Vera always have surprises and gave Madelyn a Tangled dress, wig and shoes.  Needless to say, that wig didn't make it back to Richmond.  It was so tangled and dirty by the end of the weekend, I made sure it stayed at Grandpa's house!

Together again!

Madelyn was so grown up at the shower!

Madelyn thinks that Jack lives at Grandpa's house.  During this visit, we actually made a trip to Jack's house and saw his room.  She was so excited and now things make a lot more sense!
Madelyn thought it was so cool that we could walk from Nikki and Nick's house to the playground!

Hanging out with Nikki, Nick and Reese in Boston!

Yummy ice cream!  Madelyn is obsessed with Nick and insisted on sitting next to him in the booth.  I sat all by myself on the other side!

Madelyn was in heaven and thought it was so funny that Nick put chocolate sauce on her nose!
