Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday 2011 will not go down in the books as the best Easter ever.  It wasn't terrible but it didn't turn out the way we had planned.  On top of it being Easter Sunday, Bill and I were also celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary!  After the kids woke up, we found the Easter Bunny baskets and rushed through breakfast to make it to 9am mass.  We made it in time but Ellie gave us a run for our money during the service.  She wants to walk everywhere which made listening and focusing extremely hard.  She even managed to spit up down my dress in the middle of church.  It was lovely!  After church, we stopped at home for an hour and then headed over to my parent's house for Easter Sunday.  About 5 minutes after we arrived, my mom came down with a nasty stomach virus and ended up in the ER that night (She's fine now but was pretty sick at one point).  Since she was so sick, we ate lunch and then left without even having dessert.  My poor mom had gifts for the girls and had planned an awesome Easter egg hunt which we had to postpone.  I felt so terrible for her!  Later that day, we did some yardwork and had an Easter egg hunt with our next door neighbors which was a lot of fun for the kids.  Bill and I ended up celebrating our anniversary that night with leftovers and a glass of wine in front of the TV. Boy has our life changed, but we wouldn't want to have it any other way!

The Easter Bunny gave Madelyn some gardening supplies. She's really into helping me water our flowers!

Madelyn insisted on leaving the carrots for the Easter Bunny outside.  She's checking to make sure that he found the carrots.  She's pretty scared of the bunny and wanted to make sure he didn't come into the house to eat his snack!

Exhausted and hot little girl.  It was 90+ degrees on Easter Sunday.  I think we've skipped Spring and jumped right into Summer!
