Legendary Santa

Yesterday, we made our annual trip to the Children's Museum to visit the Legendary Santa.  We made sure we arrived early so we could be the first group in the room and see Santa come down the chimney.  Luckily, we were 2nd in line and got front row seats for Santa.  The kids loved it, especially Ellie. She was in awe and got so excited when he came down the chimney and kept waving at him.  Our Santa experience was pretty uneventful this year with no tears.  They both went up to him and let him put them on his lap.  Madelyn spoke in the microphone and asked for a pink purse with charms like Lainey.  Ellie spoke right in the microphone too and asked for a Tiana Barbie like Madelyn (she said Money) and a Barbie Car like Money.  They were so cute talking to Santa.  I was laughing so hard I was crying!  It was a memorable Santa visit!

20 Questions and 5-year check-up

Madelyn had a great well check-up last week at the pediatrician's office. At 5 year's old, Madelyn weighs 38 pounds (37%) and is 41 inches tall (21%).  Madelyn goes to preschool 3 days a week and loves school and has adjusted well to meeting all new people in her class.  Madelyn is also taking her 2nd year of ballet/tap lessons.  She absolutely loves dance this year and comes home and practices and teaches Ellie everything she learned.   Madelyn is a fantastic Big Sister to Ellie and we have enjoyed watching their relationship blossom into a strong friendship.  Bill and I never imagined that Madelyn and Ellie would be so close.  They are inseparable and love playing together.  They will have their occasional fights, but I must say that they are sisters as well as best of friends!

A friend of mine gave me the idea of having the birthday girl do a 20 question interview.  Here's Madelyn's Big 5-year old interview:

Cora's 4th Birthday and a Jam Packed Weekend

This past weekend makes we tired just thinking about it!  It was a jam packed weekend and I think we are still catching up from all of the partying we did.  In one weekend, we had 3 kid birthday parties, a skype 1st birthday party for our nephew Andrew,  an adult 40th birthday at a country club while the kids spent the night at Nana and Pop's house, an advent lunch at church, and a UR Kid's Holiday party.  We also managed to fit in dinner Friday night to say goodbye to our good friends who moved to Georgia.  Whew!!!  It was a fun but BUSY weekend for our family.

One of the highlights of the weekend was Cora's 4th birthday fashion show party.  It was awesome.  Uncle Sam built a 16 foot runway in their family room and the girls absolutely loved it. They are still talking about it.  Our friend Kirsten was the make-up artist and did everyone's make-up before the big show.  I went a little camera crazy at the party because the kids looked so adorable dressing up and doing their little fashion show.  Happy Birthday to our little fashionista Cora!

Also, Happy 1st Birthday to our nephew Andrew!  We can't wait to see you in a couple of months!

Ellie is really into arts and crafts and loved making the door hanger!
